Start in Stage
Choose a play, role and reading goal. You can browse and listen to examples before activating access. A parent must explain recording and activate the trial or Lifetime before new practice recording. Listen to the partner, then manually start and stop your line. Saved means the audio and library record have been committed.
Retry, compare and save
Your first valid take is kept. Record another take to compare A and B in the same scene; keep either, retry or leave the choice for later. Removing cues keeps the original words. New lines are not automatically demonstrated; Help and Skip are recorded as actions. You can save an unfinished play and return later. Examples are labeled and never substituted for missing child recordings.
Parent Studio, trial and restoration
Complete the adult-reading gate to open Parent Studio. It relocks on leaving, backgrounding or session expiry. The trial lasts 168 hours from the original verified Apple transaction. Restore Purchases with the Apple Account used to activate or buy; restoration does not restart the trial or restore your recordings. Lifetime is planned at US$6.99 with no subscription. Purchase activation and restoration need Apple services; verified access is cached for offline practice.
Microphone and interruptions
Recording requires microphone permission after the parent explanation. If denied, existing audio and examples remain available; use the parent-only Microphone settings link to review permission. Locking, backgrounding, a call or route change stops capture safely, and returning does not start it automatically. Check saved takes before trying again. Do not uninstall or reset the device to troubleshoot.
Backups, exports and private sync
Export Play Audio creates a composed .m4a for a fully recorded role. Export Full Backup creates a .lineliltbackup file containing private text and voices; protect it and choose the recipient carefully. Import validates and previews before merging, with explicit confirmation to restore deleted material. Purchases and parent sessions are excluded. Private iCloud is optional and does not replace an independent backup; cloud deletion and local deletion are separate.
Contact a grown-up support channel
Email the app version, device/iOS version and steps to reproduce. Do not send a child’s identity, voice, custom text, backup or purchase receipt unless you deliberately choose material needed for the issue. LineLilt never automatically attaches your library or recordings to support.
