Start with the teaching demo
Play with a familiar partner and choose the free teaching demo. Decide who is Speaker and who is Builder. Only the Speaker looks at the secret scene. Make your own clue, confirm it, cover the screen and pass the device. The Builder replays the clue and places objects before choosing Check.
Ask, replay and switch roles
Replay repeats a recorded clue. Ask requests new information: Which one?, Where? or Say that again? Pass back so the Speaker can add a clearer clue, then continue building. See together reveals the scene and records a shared reveal rather than an independent match. Switch roles after a round so each partner can describe and build.
Recording and Talk Live
In Parents, complete the changing adult question and choose Enable microphone recording. Each clue has a visible stop control and a 30-second limit. Backgrounding, interruptions or route changes stop audio; recording does not automatically resume. If permission is refused, sound is unavailable or storage is low, choose Talk Live and say clues aloud without recording. Check device volume and the selected speaker or headphones before replay.
Trial, Lifetime Unlock and Restore Purchases
In Parents, Start 7-day trial begins seven days from the original Apple trial transaction; restoring does not restart that clock. Lifetime Unlock is planned at US$9.99 for all 24 missions, with no subscription or automatic charge. Use Restore Purchases with the Apple Account used for the purchase. Pending purchases wait for Apple approval. Restoration restores access, not game history or recordings. Apple Family Sharing is not offered. Do not delete the app to fix a purchase issue.
Export and complete backups
Parents offers Export progress as CSV or JSON for completed activity summaries. Create complete backup prepares a ZIP that can include games, settings and recordings. Use Save or share prepared export to choose the destination. ZIP files are not encrypted by ClueMend. Keep them private and check your backup before moving devices. Restore from backup validates the file, previews its contents and saves a safety copy before merging; it never imports purchases.
Private iCloud progress
Sync is off by default. A parent can enable it for devices using the same iCloud account. Only completed activity summaries and experience settings sync; recordings, secret scenes and unfinished games do not. Sync cannot move an ongoing round to another device. When the account changes, sync pauses and requires the parent to enable it again; older local games are excluded from uploads to the new account.
Delete recordings and manage copies
In History and storage, a parent can delete a clue, all recordings, a game or the local library. Deleting recordings keeps game progress and separately prepared backups. Clearing the local library also removes its prepared exports and recovery copies. Private iCloud progress has a separate deletion action that marks summaries as deleted; local games and purchases remain. Files already shared, system backups and copies on other devices need separate management. Read the result message before assuming an action completed.
Contact support
A parent can email the app version, device model, system version and a short description of the issue. Do not send children’s names, photos, voices, recordings, complete backups or payment details. ClueMend is not yet available on the App Store; this page does not provide a download or testing invitation.
