Effective October 2, 2026. StoryUndo is developed by Hailink Labs, the brand of Shenzhen Hailink Technology Co., Ltd..
Children and local learning
StoryUndo is designed for children ages 6–8 and parents. It does not require an app account, real name, email, birthday or school. A parent can create up to four profiles with an optional nickname and a preset avatar. Use a nickname, not identifying information. Profile IDs, submitted models, help and completion records, drafts, dates and preferences are stored on the device. Hailink Labs does not operate a learning-data server or automatically receive these records.
Optional Apple private iCloud
Learning sync is off by default. Only a parent can enable it. It uses Apple CloudKit private storage for profiles, submitted models, help events, completions and deletion markers on devices using the same iCloud account. Unfinished drafts do not sync. Opaque account and installation identifiers help separate accounts and merge records; they are not advertising identifiers. It is not a public database or a cross-account family learning service. Hailink Labs does not receive these records on a developer-operated server. Apple handles its storage under its policies. Core learning works when sync is off or unavailable. Turning sync off does not erase records already stored in iCloud.
Apple purchases
Apple handles the one-time Full Unlock purchase, restoration and eligible Family Sharing through StoreKit. The app uses verified transaction information to determine access. Purchase access is separate from learning records and is never imported from a learning backup. Hailink Labs does not receive payment card details or operate a purchase receipt server. Apple may process purchases, diagnostics and TestFlight information according to its policies and your Apple settings.
Sound, permissions and tracking
Sound plays prerecorded files bundled in the app. StoryUndo does not listen, record or send speech to a voice or AI service. It does not request microphone, camera, photos, location or contacts access. There are no ads, tracking, third-party analytics or third-party crash reporting SDKs. Story text remains available with sound off.
Parent-controlled files and recovery copies
A parent can export a JSON learning backup to a chosen file provider and import a supported backup after validation and preview. Files include learning data and preferences, never purchase entitlement or Apple receipts. Before a restore, the app saves a recovery copy on the device. It may also preserve conflicting learning versions for review. Exports are not password-encrypted by the app. Protect them and manage copies in the destination you choose. Hailink Labs does not automatically receive your exports. Other providers or recipients process shared files under their own practices.
Retention and deletion
Learning remains locally until a parent deletes it or removes the app. Parent-confirmed deletion removes the selected profiles’ nicknames, learning, drafts and related conflict records and cleans this app’s automatic recovery copies. A minimal profile identifier and deletion timestamp remain to prevent older copies from restoring deleted learning. If sync is enabled, the deletion marker is synchronized before older cloud learning is removed; deletion is pending until successful sync. With sync off, previous private cloud copies remain until sync is enabled again. Other devices keep local copies until they sync. If a file or database step fails, the app reports the partial result rather than claiming deletion finished.
Copies outside the app
Deleting learning or removing the app does not erase files you exported, operating-system backups, Apple purchase records or existing iCloud copies by itself. Manage those separately through their storage services and Apple settings. Purchase restoration restores access, not learning history. Hailink Labs cannot recover local learning from a server or erase copies held by your chosen file recipients.
Parent support correspondence
Purchases, external links, sync and backup management require a parent check. If a parent emails support, we receive the email address, message and attachments to answer and resolve the issue. Do not send children’s real names, photos, voices, learning backups, payment details or other personal information. Our company mailbox uses Tencent business email; Hailink Labs in China may access support messages. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising. Correspondence is retained for no longer than 12 months after the issue closes unless an ongoing issue or legal obligation requires longer. Parents can request access, correction or deletion by email; we may verify the relevant email address.
